Park Baseball Academy Billet Information

Providing a Home Away from Home for Young Athletes

What is the Billet Program?

The Sherwood Park Minor Baseball (SPMBA) Billet Program provides a supportive home environment for players from outside the area who are joining our summer teams or academy. Local families open their homes, offering athletes a stable living situation while they pursue their baseball and academic goals.

Billeting is a rewarding experience that builds lifelong friendships between players and families. As a host, you’ll play a crucial role in a young athlete’s journey while becoming a valued part of the SPMBA community.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will players stay?

Most players arrive in September and stay through the end of their season (August). Some may stay for an entire school year if enrolled in the academy.

Do I have to drive the player to practices or games?

In some cases, but usually, players are responsible for their own transportation. Some may bring their own vehicle or arrange carpooling.

Can I host more than one player?

Yes! Many families find that hosting two players is easier, as they provide company and transportation for each other.

What if there is an issue with the player staying in my home?

If any challenges arise, the Billet Coordinator will work with you and the player to resolve concerns or, if necessary, arrange a reassignment.

Can I become a billet family at any time of year?
